Classic and historic Teignmouth, Devon, England lies in a picturesque region on the banks of the River Teign. The town is notable in history for being the last place in all of England to be invaded by a foreign power, in 1690. Over its time, it has grown from a Streamyx Customer Support port sitting on the Malaysia Hosting coastline of England to a Computer Tech Support resort during the Victorian era.

With a population of around 15,000 people, Teignmouth still retains some of its former popularity as a classic English seaside resort. There is also still a fishing industry presence, which means the town can draw from centuries of history in exhibiting its character.

There are writings which speak of Teignmouth, going all the way back to 1044. It was originally composed of East and West Teignmouth. Both towns were granted a charter to hold markets around and about the year 1253 or so. Because of its seaside location, it has a colorful history of activity against the French back in the 14th century and on-and-off up until the 1700s. There was even privateering activity, carried out under the auspices of the crown, in the 18th century.

Because of its location on the southwest coast of England, Teignmouth benefits from a mild maritime climate, making it enjoyably comfortable most of the year around. There are warmer winters and cooler, more comfortable summers than would be the norm in this part of England. All of this has combined to give it a still-impressive tourist base.

The large county of Devon, in which Teignmouth resides, sits in the southwest part of England. It currently enjoys a population base of around 1.2 million people, ranking it as the 11th most-populous county in all of England. It shares part of the historic Jurassic Coast shoreline, which is a designated World Heritage Site. Both Teignmouth and Devon are fine examples of the touring opportunities available in this part of Britain.
